Make room for the last three hours

Use your accommodation’s information and your onward journey to make room for packing, pausing and leaving.

Fill in this plan after checking what your accommodation provides. Late checkout and luggage storage are not guaranteed.

01 / MAKE ROOM

Start with the fixed times

Write down the checkout time stated by your accommodation and the time of your next connection or appointment. Use your booking confirmation or official information, and ask the property if the details conflict.

Three hours is a way of thinking about a calmer departure, not a promised benefit or a fixed schedule. Allow time for packing, checking the room, completing checkout and reaching your next stop before choosing anything else.

02 / MAKE ROOM

Check what the property actually offers

Ask whether luggage storage is available, for how long and under what conditions or charges. Ask about availability and any charge before requesting a different checkout time. Do not build the plan around it until it is confirmed.

Check whether breakfast or shared-space access applies to your booking and what hours or conditions apply. Skip anything unavailable or unnecessary. This template does not describe any particular property’s services.

03 / MAKE ROOM

Give the last part of the stay some shape

Choose one thing for the first part: resting in the room, taking a short nearby walk or having breakfast, if available. Make sure there is still time to return and pack.

Let the second part cover packing and checkout, and the third the onward journey. Fill in the actual times using your booking and transport details. If time is tight, shorten the first part and protect the final connection.

04 / MAKE ROOM

Keep immediate essentials within reach

Separate what you need during the journey from bags that may be stored or loaded. Keep booking details, charging essentials and personal necessities where you can reach them. Avoid leaving a list containing personal information in public.

Check easy-to-miss places such as sockets, the bathroom, wardrobe and drawers for chargers or small belongings. A final check in a consistent order can be easier than relying on memory. The packing story below offers another starting point.

05 / MAKE ROOM

When the plan changes

If late checkout is unavailable, return to a plan that leaves by the stated time. If bags cannot be stored, simplify the route so storage is unnecessary, or independently check another suitable option. No particular storage provider or availability is promised here.

When weather or transport changes, put the onward journey ahead of an extra stop. Check service updates with the transport operator and change or refund conditions with your booking provider. A plan cannot promise rights or benefits.

Before you go

  • Have you confirmed checkout and your next connection?
  • Have you checked the availability and conditions of storage or a time change?
  • Do breakfast and shared-space conditions apply to your booking?
  • Have you separated immediate essentials from bags to be stored?
  • Have you checked the bathroom, wardrobe, drawers and charging points?
  • Do you know what to remove if travel takes longer?
